Re: Your Top individual boxing performances of all time ....
Remember watching Tyson/Spinks and thinking Spinks was a beaten man before the fight even started. Tyson at his best was just too fast and too strong for anyone let alone a natural light heavyweight.

Benn v McClellen
Brutal fight. Incredible performance from Benn

Naz v Kevin Kelley
Naz’s announcement on world stage. Naz had potential to become Britain’s greatest ever fighter. Unfulfilled talent

Diago Corrales v Luis Castillo
Absolute war, with an incredible ending. 10th round is one of the greatest rounds ever seen

Tyson v Spinks
Complete destruction of unbeaten Olympic champion in less than two minutes. Tyson at his brutal best against a great fighter

I'd go with the Benn v McClellan fight it was indeed brutal and I still don't know to this day how Benn came back after being knocked out of the ring at the start. Nasty bit of work McClellan but I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Benn was never the same after that in the way Eubank after Watson,. The first Eubank v Benn was a war as well. Two incredible fighters as it must be said was Watson.

My boxing knowledge is poor but I have to say the most memorable fight I can recall seeing is Watson v Eubank.

Tragic end story of course but that was one hell of a scrap.

Re: Your Top individual boxing performances of all time ....
Some great fights in the SRL, Hagler, Hearns and Duran series but that Benn McClellend fight was brutality at a different level

Hated McClellend and still retain no sympathy for the bastard

Kirkland Laing beating Roberto Duran was a good one too. Laing being Laing then disappeared without a trace for almost a year having just got himself within sniffing distance of a title shot.

Re: Your Top individual boxing performances of all time ....
Lloyd Honeyghan vs. Don Curry

Another one where the Brit was going to be cannon fodder against the, then rated, best pound for pound boxer on the planet. Instead Honeyghan battered Curry around the ring for 6 rounds at which point Curry retired on his stool.

Re: Your Top individual boxing performances of all time ....
FVDE So many people have Hagler winning that fight , i just dont see it , as you say Boxed his way to a decision , he was never gunna fight hagler like hearns did...

Re: Your Top individual boxing performances of all time ....
My standout would be Sugar Ray Leonard v Marvelous Marvin Hagler,no one gave Leonard much chance coming out of retirement but gave a masterclass in counter punching
Two great Boxers

Re: Your Top individual boxing performances of all time ....
Benn V mcclelland

It was a terrible ending but a great fight. Benn was supposed to get beaten and almost lost it in the first round I thought Benn truly grew as a fighter that night, although as I say it was a terrible ending where mcclelland got brain damage.
